EIGHTH GRADE
Greetings and thank you for visiting our Classroom Webpage!
My name is Frances Castañeda. I am the English Language Arts Middle School Teacher as well as the 8th Grade Homeroom Teacher. I have been in the teaching field for more than 20 years. On the side of teaching, I have been a choir and music director at various parishes. I studied music since an early age in life where I was given the opportunity to learn to believe in myself and to play various instruments professionally as well as sing. I bring to the classroom the expertise of so many years working with students of different ages, discipline, creativity, but above all, empowering students to believe in themselves in order for them to experience success through motivation, perseverance, and dedication.
I graduated from California State University, Los Angeles earning a BA in Language Arts. I studied a Masters Degree in Human Development in the Universidad Motolinía Del Pedregal in Mexico City.
I am looking forward to work with your child and have an enjoyable and successful year together.
I hope that we can all work together as a team in order to better assist your child in his/her academic development! Parent involvement is a very important aspect of a child’s education and I look forward to working with you to ensure your child’s success.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy working on my own music compositions, soundtracks and recordings, hiking, admiring nature, exercising, dancing, watching movies, and spending time with my family and friends.
Let’s make this an enjoyable and memorable year!
Ms. Castañeda
Welcome to my English Language Arts class! We will be working very hard this year. Not only will we be reading novels throughout the year, we will be working on expanding our vocabulary and mastering our grammar skills.
I look forward to working with you this year.
In order to create a successful classroom environment, I have a number of rules and procedures. I fully expect that those rules and procedures will be strictly adhered to; however, those students who choose to violate rules and procedures will be subject to the discipline policy.
